Western Port

Post by Safari » Sat Aug 06, 2011 8:09 pm

Hi guys first post here on the forum. :waving:
I will be heading out from Tooradin by boat in the coming months, I keep hearing the same "name" spots come up.
Just wondering if anyone can give me a basic reference (not gps marks or readings) on where they are.
Joe's island is one??? Middle spit (I was told is the western side of french island opposite hastings??)
I did go out a few times last season had had some good fishing but it would be nice to know some other areas.

People who know the area, All I did last year is head out the Tooradin channel to the right then followed markers towards french island and stopped at
three markers basically in a row, There were channels going in all directions but there was very shallow areas so I did not push my luck, Any info on where to go from there would be great!! And yes I will be buying a GPS/chartplotter when I can afford it.

depends on what fish you want to target?

anywhere from 3-25 metres will get you fish in Western Port.

Stick to the edge of the channels for bigger species.
