Prob a simple answer to this, but i have bought a new boat with a live bait tank and it has this setup (see pic) when i turn the live bait tank pump, water pumps into the tank, but then water drains out the hole shown straight away. As stupid as this may sound, do i just plug the hole with a rubber plug? or am i missing something really obvious? do i push tubing in it to raise the hole so the water level is higher?
reason i ask is i guess the idea is to keep the water moving...
ideas?

Yep. If you just bung it with a plug , you will be having to pull the plug by hand each time to drain and fill, not good for live fish !.huskie wrote:oh may have answered my own question, but is this what i need?

The overflow allows you to run the pump regularly to freshen the water supply, without having to fully drain it at all each time.
