boat cover

Post by blacklab99 » Wed Mar 20, 2013 8:50 pm

hey guys,
just wanted to get everyones opinion or experience on who to take the boat to for a new cover !
the trip back from sydney proved too much for the one that came with the boat, looked pretty well like the original one. half way back the seams started pulling apart, and i forgot to put the live bait tank lid down before fitting it on before heading back,, you guessed it ,2 nice new holes in it !! the canvass has pretty well stiffened up and not worth patching or saving,
so need to take it to someone that does a good job.
any recomendations would be gratefully accepted

regards
colin

Go to a place called "Kelmatt Australia", they make custom pool covers, car covers, everything. if you go to the website and give them a call they might be able to help you out.

thanks for that, went to the webb site, but they didnt list or mention anything about boats.
i'll give then a ring though
im sort of thinking a marine uposlterer specialising in it every day, might be a better go, im figuring they will have to drill in new clips etc into the boat itself, ide sort of want someone that new what they were doing, especially with a drill goin int the side of my "baby". theres a fair bit of customised fitting with it,cut outs around launcher, and huge bait board posts etc etc its not standard, so im hoping someone has direct experience with some one.
a mate of mine got one fitted a year or so back, and ive never seen such a shocker of a job, as well as the guy drilling into the perspex screen and cracking it in 3 places, so i know where not to go !
but i'll certainly give them a call and talk with them
thanks
