Hey plaky dudes I'm going to put my order in for a spindrift in about 4 weeks time or there a bouts ...

I have a problem ~ I can't decide on the color !

I've been milling around this dilemma ever since I laid eye's on this pocket rocket !

I've also decided I'm going for a 4 stroke engine to enhance the stealth aspect. ( horse power undecided )

You know sneak up on them ! LOL

wow these look awesome! about two years ago i bought an old 4m tinnie with plans to just use it in and around werribee/point cook area but due to my inexperience with boats and lack of a 2nd person to to go out with ive shied away from the busy boat ramps and its only seen two trips to a couple of lakes. coupled with the fact i was looking to buy a 2nd trailer to cart rubbish for work im starting to think something like this would be much more suited to me. 3m just seems so small though especially with a second person!

im very tempted by this boat myself but am pretty scared looking at the size of it...
its def the perfect boat for fishing the shallower waters where you cant get to landbased or from piers casting distnaces etc
this will be perfect for areas black rock, mt martha etc etc

cheers
Its a breaming weapon mate, you are either coming with me in this or the smarwave 3500 very soon and Good to hear back from you Gonefishing.
lolll hurry up then already....
with these boats, do you have to pay the ramp fees considerign you dont need to use the ramp??
imagine taking this to gippsland waterways instead of a kayak..

Hi Purp, what I love is NO ramp fee's

No ramp fights

launching where I want

Fish rivers and creeks without stepping on snakes if I was landbased

Use as a floundering platform for battery and catch bucket

inshore use only for whiting and flathead shallow water use

better stability than any tinny this size

win win win win win ..

Nice looking craft and good thread full of advise, but still a bit big for what I have been looking for. I need something for the Yarra, that one person can launch and retrieve, thinking a small canoe, but not a kayak. Saw the canoe they built on better Homes and Gardens the other day - not sure how keen I am to go out in one I built myself.

Chris the spindrift is 55 kg light as ...

you can stand in it and have a pizz, do that in a canoe

and take all the gear you want

cheaper than a top of the line canoe, I see no disadvantage's compared to a canoe only advantages.

I will have to have a closer look at it, just not sure how it will handle through some of the shallow rapids etc along the Yarra. Sure it will be fine through most of it, but need it to be right through ALL of it.
Also might be hard to launch with some very tight river access along the Yarra.
