I used to get a bit of salt on the seal of my Yammie 40 to, could be partly the design of them as I had no spraying going on. I noticed a rattle at a certain rpm with my Suzuki on Saturday and found a loose 6 x 35 screw that holds a side cover on just hanging in by the last thread. This was obviously not tightened correctly by the mechanics that fitted the motor as it hasn't even done 20 hours, now I'll be checking all screws nuts and bolts as part of my regular maintenance.

Good day Denis,
Half way round Aus. Posting from Broome today. I’ll show my ignorance here I think but wouldn’t spraying Inox on the anode inhibit it’s corrosion? I always thought that it was intended to corrode to be effective.
Cheers, Col.

I spray some inox on the outside of the boat
But put anti seize on the threads
The inox comes off in the water
Good fushing around Aus

Thanks for the explanation and the good wishes Denis. Very hot and dry across the Pilbara and The Kimberley but I’m still hoping for a bit of success and some new experiences as I head further east.
Cheers, Col.

Really good advice there. Another item that sometimes gets ignored are battery terminals. Removing any green fur and corrosion and then a light coating of grease works wonders.

Lots of good tips dennis.

may i add a few.

lubricate the rollers on the trailer if you have them, makes a big difference having a roller that rolls as opposed to a roller that rubs.
also i though inox was waterproof to a certain extent which would make using it on the anodes a bad idea..
and inox on the linkage bolts of the steering shaft as well, not just the steering shaft itself, mine has actually seized once, got it free after a bit of heat and lots of inox.
i also put some inox on the tilt and trim ram, tie down buckles and trailer wiring pin and receptacle
i spray fish oil on the galvanised parts of my trailer, mainly the axle.
i would have though doing all this once a year is enough rather than once a month??

I've disconnected the bayonet fuel line on fuel tanks many times without issue.

If you are out Fushin and you get engine surging get a knife cut the Bayonet fitting off and poke the fuel fine into your fuel tank
This will get you home ok
