What do your elderly neighbors use the boat for?
Will they be happy to charge batteries everytime they use it?
The suggestion for a 2 stroke gets my vote . But it will be a bit fiddly to start in the colder mornings.

Bit of a tricky situation this one..

Any reason they cant just leave the motor on the boat?

It would be interesting to compare the cost of transom mount electric and a decent sized lithium battery with charger vs some of the petrol options recommended here. Not knocking anyone, just wondering

They have a motor home and transport it behind it on top of a Suzuki. They travel round and when they stop they unload and have a cruise round. Pretty low key. I relayed the post yesterday and they are looking into smaller Honda this week.
