Re: New ride
Thanks fellas, yeah in the end I'm glad I didn't go for the BC, they are a well thought out boat but apart from saving a fair bit of coin they come pretty much complete so there's not much you can tinker with. I'm looking forward to not worrying about electrolysis, paint blowing off etc. just need to be a little more careful at the ramp than what I'm used to.

Re: New ride
Transom and floors seem nice and solid but I'll be making sure any holes are sealed with flow coat etc. Came with a set of fenders to which is a bonus.bowl wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:21 amJust gotta worry about rot , soft spots ectTrumpeter wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:53 amThanks fellas, yeah in the end I'm glad I didn't go for the BC, they are a well thought out boat but apart from saving a fair bit of coin they come pretty much complete so there's not much you can tinker with. Thanks, it can take a while for the novelty to wear off!
Cheers Matt, the hull's approx 100kg heavier.

Re: New ride
Theres your problem if you can afford it just do it im keeping my 520sf going to get it in a marina then save and purchase a larger HHunter or Bass Strait for offshore trips up and down the coast not negotiable.

Re: New ride
Just rip the guts out of the 520, rebuild it with long range capabilities and save some cash

Re: New ride
Have considered that idea and it's a good one but I want a boat in the water permanently on Westernport as it will enable me to fish a lot more the second vessel is a little further away.cobby wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:30 pmJust rip the guts out of the 520, rebuild it with long range capabilities and save some cash
Being familiar with the hull trumpeter has purchased can say he has made a great choice the first investments/upgrades I would make is a new sounder and an anchor winch.
