This just happened at St Kilda. This is can happen when you take your safety chain off before reversing down the ramp

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Poor guys were in for a bad day, they couldn’t get their engines to start & being a small ramp, I’m sure people will start to get annoyed with them for blocking a lane.

Mate of mine did exactly the same thing
Went from a 14ft tinny on skids to a 20ft fibreglass on rollerrocker trailer
Never got it wet, on it's maiden voyage
Cost him 1,000's to fix
Cheers Gra

I have seen this happen at Patterson Lakes. Novices with brand new boat and tow vehicle. Took safety chain off and going down the ramp the quick release let go. Bumpy ramp and no idea! :o_0:

Many years ago saw something like that at Corinella where on easter Saturday a boat came off the trailer while driving it up, safety chain wasnt on and the electric winch let go
Was a big glass boat around 25f, held up one lane for over an hour
