I would go for a 4x4 for any sand/beach launch. No car looks good bogged in sand with the tide coming in!

You seem obsessed with sand launching, are you moving to the Northern Territory or far North queensland? I would'nt attempt it in anything but a 4 wheel drive. The amount of rust your car will gather from launching in salt water is not worth it, most people have a trailer with a wheel at the front so you can push it into the water, are you thinking of any spots in particular where you intend to launch off the sand?

I too have a triton...im not going to say too many positive things about it cause it has been and is a *****, but it does go well on the sand being light.
I have a 2013 model just out of warranty and it has started surging, which when i googled seems to be a common problem. Happens all the time under load unfortunately so cant wait to get it fixed and f%#k it off

Ive been through a few 4x4 utes lately....triton, navara, ranger. The triton was the least comfortable, navara was the least powerful, and the ranger has been faultless so far. All will tow your boat easily. I'd probably get a forester if I was in your shoes...they are bullet proof

All come.down to how much money you want to spend.
Defently need a 4x4.
Depending in which 1 is depending on your budget

Bowl,
I have used the kirks point sand ramp for many years and have seen many funny things let me tell you. The funniest was one day at low tide I seen a gemini reversing a trailer in to launch a boat, I thought to myself whats this bloke doing? He continued to reverse in until the trailer and half his car was submerged. Once off the trailer he drove out, opened the doors and let all the water drain out...I would have hated to have been the next purchaser of that gemini. What Im getting at is the sand is fairly compact and you can do it easily with an awd

Just get a Landcruiser 200 series
Tow your house, if you want
Only problem is they're a bit expensive
Cheers Gra
