I'm the same as Delirium and have a spare wheel mounted on the winch post (which is also handy for pushing it into the garage)...still have to put some grip-tape on the areas I step on though.

I never climb in from the front....
Just reverse the boat close enough to side of floatation pontoon and jump in from side of boat.

How do you stop the boat from rolling off while you unhook the chain and winch?

The problem with the boat launches states your ment to hook the chain and winch up before you pull.the trailer out of the water.
I believe the main reason for them is for solo person to drive boat on to hook upto to trailer and the you can turn motor off before you climb off front of the boat and hook winch up and drive out.

That response was regarding the use on a L and r boat catch.

Disadvantage of wollys statement was he left the boat to walk down the ramp to jupm in the boat. I wouldnt trust the boat for that long alone with other boats causing wash or swell at ramps

Easy ,just unhook safety chain ( when U have reversed boat in water I)and let boat role back inch or 2'and leave winch hook on boat...
Jump in boat and start boat and go forwards and take winch strap off while in boat....this is easy with walk thru cab boats

I get what you mean now.
I cant get to the shackle on front of the boat unless you lay down along the side of the bow rail and half lean over the bow spirit

I have a L & r boat catch but still dont trust it too leave the boat to walk around and down a ramp.
