Yes yes there is no replacement for displacement but sadly we will all have to get used to all motors being 2lt or less in the future.

Still love my supercharged V8.

Granted, but nothing beats the scream of a twin cam inline 6 with a big turbo and external gate..

I found lower knock readings with Royal Purple and BP Ultimate. BP Ultimate always trumped Shell.

Recently though I've found i get a fair few more k's out of a tank of United diesel over BP diesel..
Funny you say that i also noticed the same but in petrol

and ps last 2 years i have only used shell in the subaru and major service fuel pump and filter assembly had to be changed as routine maintenance, i was there when they did it as it was at a mates shop, tank was clean as. no water nothing in it that they could see. even the filter was clean
1 and only time I ran united diesel (that came from a high turnover almost brand new station) it cost me $220 and an hour of my time to replace a SCV and fuel filters. 7/11(mobil) is hit and miss, shell is average, bp means 70km less per tank and lots of smoke (and 4c dearer on average), Caltex vortex is best all-round with average consumption down to 7.8-10.6l per 100 depending on where and how I drive. Bog standard common rail 4m41 running Castrol RX Super at $4.65 a litre.

The outboard should be right with any semi-synth/fully synth oil of the correct viscosity

add a 6inch velocity stack at the suction end and you have a mini aeroplane taking off come spool time.
