Disconnecting the fuel

On this boat i have a johnson 115hp and ment to have a direct injection oil.

I have disconnect the oil injection cos they can be faulty so i mix the oil directly into the fuel.

In the last boat i juat mixed the oil into the fuel.
At the end of the day when i would flush the motor i would disconnect the fuel hose and let fuel run out so wouldnt end up with build up oil in the carbie.

With the new boat i cant disconnect the fuel hose cos the connection in somewhere in engine.

Shoud i fuel tap in or somthing to run the oil out of the carbies so it starts easier? Or how do i improve the situation?

i never disconnected mine with premix and now without premix.
you can always just pinch/kink the fuel line but im not sure if thats going to damage the hose in the long run.

Theres a few different trains of thought on this.I just leave mine "wet" and drain the bowl when i want to use it again if it's not been used for some months.Keeps all the gaskets & o rings from drying out and cracking & perishing.
Running them "dry" can also lead to the combustion chamber & top of the piston getting bloody hot as the air/fuel mixture leans out (burns hotter)the oil is only in the mixture to lubricate all the moving parts,not cool them.Do this often enough with an aluminium piston and metal fatigue will set in.

my guess you should run the fuel out of the bowls of the carbs before starting if it has been sitting not because of the oil mix but more so because the crap fuel these days
unleaded fuel goes off quite quickly unlike to good old days of leaded fuels

How do you actually drain the bowl off stale fuel. Would be handy to know incase i need to.

There should be a tap on the botton of the reserve section on the bottom of the fuel filter

Easy fix use the boat more often or start it up if it hasn't been used in awhile.

I start the boat up every 10 day or so
