Fees, annual pass available, The meter takes credit card but last time it had problems reading the card.

Two ramps.

First ramp is 3 lanes I think. Jetty either side shallow angle Public toilet.

The second newer ramp is closer to the breakwall, has 4 lanes and jetties, Plenty of parking

Both ramps have fish cleaning facilities.

Warnings
No riding in the boat once it is on dry land or you will be booked
You must wear a life jacket launching and retrieving or you will be booked.
When they have a blitz, your rig will be weighed, tow ball weight. and all your safety gear will be checked.

Port Fairy

Two lanes, limited parking.

Ramp angle steep.

When exiting into the habour, try not to take a short cut or you risk running aground.

Altona.
Daily fee (24hrs) $20.
Good facilities- toilets, cleaning tables,
5 concrete lanes from memory,
Plenty of moorings- except on a busy day like most weekends.
Very protected by breakwall,
Good access at all tides - recently dredged Oct 2017
Regularly squid and pinkys right out the front of the breakwall.
Nice mid starting point to head to werribee/dumb joe/point Wilson on the south west or Fawkner beacon/Sandringham to the south east.
Gets a bit pongy due to rotting seaweed in the adjacent creek/drain.
3/4 of the traffic are boats the rest are very responsible jet ski riders,,,,,,,,,not.
The parking inspectors are puss bags, but I'm sure they are beautiful kind and caring people really, who do a wonderful responsible job for the community- they are not revenue raisers, no. ( long story, yes I had a valid ticket).

Apologies if this is the wrong place, just thought I’d save starting a new thread with a “hopefully” easy question.
I might get the chance Saturday morning to venture down the south end of the bay and would like to know the best place to launch with a 6m fibreglass boat.
The wind and weather look good so I might even have a look out the heads. I’m from outer north so I’ve got no experience with ramps down the hat way. I’ve launched from Queenscliff before no dramas but thought I’d try the other side.
A lot of the info I can find online seems dated re boat ramps.
I was looking anywhere from Mornington to rosebud or even Blairgowrie if it has a ramp ?

Rye west is probably best southen ramp i know off. Mornington bit far if heading out the hesds even tho done that few times.

Its a Concrete with pontoon for easy boat access.
Close squid grounds also

Nice thanks smile, I’ll see what I can find online about the fees, I’m guessing it would be a busy ramp on weekends ?

Faily busy so get there early

From memory i think it was $ 14 or $16.
Last time i was there 2 years ago there was a ticket machine.

You can launch at Mornington, Blairgowie does not have a public ramp. There is also Martha Cove which has heaps of parking. Sorrento if you wish to travel the far.

Sorrento has a good ramp and docking pier and it's close to the heads.
