Black Rock boat ramp

Post by Feathor » Fri Oct 20, 2017 3:33 pm

Has anyone heard if they are dredging the black rock boat ramp? Went there last Saturday morning to find a 4m tinny stuck after launching.

I have never seen it so bad. I will definatly give them a call. Maybe more sand from repairing the pier. Bad timing with snapper season and summer coming up.

Its a shitee ramp now. Really bad at low tide. My 4.2m was stuck in the sand bar on low tide.
And only gets worse in summer when the beachgoers take up the trailer parking spots.
Launch somewhere else is what i would suggest..

It's only 10mins from home so hard to go past. It's a joke when they charge for parking and as a rate payer it's frustrating. They charge $150 plus another $50 deposit for a key to nth Rd ramp if you want to go early when the gate is closed. Can't win!

Pay the 150 and use that ramp mate. Or go to.mordialloc and fight the rest of the punters..
Black rock.is absolutely shitee atm. My boat has a shallow draft and still got stuck there.
I wont be going there until its permanently deep. Not worth paying that much to launch as well as having to fight the tourists for a trailer park. And dodging 100s of swimmers diring summer right near the ramp
