Not sure about C-Maps though, have always been using Navionics on my iPhone.

Is this the same as simrad go7 that they sell in the boat dealers of $1199?repspec wrote:have a look for the Simrad GO7 XSE
Touchscreen, 7 inch, total scan transducer, navioncs goldXL9 mapping
around $1100
i have one and its a ripper unit
Can I check what functionalities are there in this unit? Besides gps, down and side scan, does it include forward scan, engine management and autopilot? Or are forward scan, engine management and autopilot additional options which you need to buy additional equipment to access? Thanks!
Also, I am getting the yamaha command link gauge too. Is that necessary if Simrad can do engine management? Thanks!

have to talk to yamaha about what is compatable for them...im not sure. I know all the mercury 4 stroke engines are...
The other options, ie auto pilot/engine management all require nmea2000 backbones and plug ins and extra gear

AFAIK,
Anything that needs to connect to your Lowrance (and would be the same for simrad)sounder (ie, autopilot, smartsteer, mercury, Suzuki and Yamaha engine interface etc) all need a NMEA2000 backbone as a start.
I could be wrong though. You also need the engine interface cable to link the engine to the NMEA2000 network.
