Comfortable pfd

Post by 8BALL » Sun Aug 13, 2017 10:03 am

Sick of the inflatable gas pfd having to get them annually checked and throw out after a couple of years.

Could someone recommend Pfd that a comfortable to wear not super thick and non-cylinder type.

Looking at buying 4 of them to replace my current ones

Anything with a canister will need to be serviced regardless.

I've got an RFD Sirocco which isn't too bad to wear when fishing but its only 100n, anything 150n or more will be pretty bulky if not an inflatable type.

Most cylinders have a 10 year hydrostatic test date. But you don't test them just buy another. The jacket has to be serviced but you can do it yourself just download the information.
I have a stormy built in winch harness auto inflate zip off arms very comfy.

Check out kayaking PFD's. Good ones aren't bulky & have clearance around the arms so you aren't restricted in your movements.
