Redudancy x 2

Post by johnnycjay » Thu Jun 15, 2017 3:45 pm

Well for the second time in 8 weeks I have been made redundant. The joys of life!

I will be off for a week or two and was thinking of dragging my little boat somewhere for a night or two. Any recommendation on where I can catch some Whiting/Squid/Salmon in a 14 foot boat that isn't too far away? I don't want to take it offshore really so bay or protected water preferred.

Hope to get some good ideas

There are plenty of options mate... really depends how far you want to travel!

Obviously there is the entire peninsula of PPB.... if it was me I would head down to the southern ends past Mornington or around St Leonards.

If you wanted to get away a bit more you could try anywhere around Westernport... Warneet is a nice relaxed spot up the norther end which would be alright.

Further than that you could look at Port Welshpool, Yanakie, Port Albert etc.

Going even further and Lakes Entrance / Lake Tyers could be suitable as well.

Sounds good. Might give Andersons Inlet a go.

Any GPS marks around PPB or WPB would be greatly appreciated also. You can PM them if you want

For whiting squid and salmon I don't use GPS marks just target general areas.

Took the boat out wide off Carrum. Took 2 pinkies and 3 flatties off the reef which was ok. Felt good finding a reef with the sounder...just need to work out how to anchor on the spot...perfect weather.
