Best boat for PPB
I think it's time for un upgrade to my tinny as I am spending more and more time out in the bay and am sort of pushing the limits a bit.
So I do a bit of snapper, whiting, gummy shark and squid fishing. I generally do this by myself or with one other mate. Fit and healthy so handling one up is easy enough. Won't be using this boat for offshore.
I'm thinking anything around the 5.0 to 5.5m size. Aluminium or fibreglass. Around the 20k mark. Thinking Savage Lancer, Streaker 545, Allison 189. Anything others I should consider?

Re: Best boat for PPB
I have had many boats over the years the last one being an Allison fisherman 5. Steer clear of these unless you like the nose spending most of its time underwater. No matter how I trimmed the motor it would always wear a few, the short sharp nose is just designed to dig in. Anyway, there are many good boats worth looking at, its probably easier telling you which ones not to look at!

4.2m deep vee tinny with a 40hp on it. Great boat but probably wouldnt want to fish from it year round. A bit cold in winter.

Re: Best boat for PPB
Just went from a 4.55 quinny coast runner, to a 5.3 coast runner. The addition of the clears and anchor winch has made a huge difference. so much warmer and more comfortable. And now when I go out and move around a lot, I only have a sore index finger, rather than a sore back.
Do reccomend.
