Nothing worse than sea sick imo
One of the worse things you can have is differant currents currents pushing towards each other in shallow water with strong winds....makes for a nasty few kms of travel
I avoid it all but still sometimes you still get stuck in it.

Quick tip for Welshpool.
When 5 ways and the entrance is a little sloppy, you can cut across the bank and stay right out of the slop.
It will be relatively calm in the shallows because of the lack of current. Instead of going via the yellow line, go via the red line in the photo.
Stick just on the shallow side of the markers and it's still fine unless it's an hour either side of low tide.
