Mercury Optimax stalling please help

Post by ChrisAbout » Thu Mar 09, 2017 11:17 am

Just replaced my old yamaha with a newer 2007 Mercury Optimax. Hooked it all up to the boat and when starting it, this happens.

Ive connected everything except the fuel level sensor, which I've left disconnected for now.

New iridium plugs first and foremost. 100% fresh fuel and brand new filters. Drain and dry oil tank before refilling with brand new stuff. But if all that fails, the short could've caused major problems with the motors electronics requiring all manner of possible things needing replaced
