Those 3 cylinder yammies are pretty economical for what they are. Cruise should be able to come in at around 1.5km/L unless you like to wot all over the place

Re: Yamaha 2banger ..fuel consumption
2x25 isn't enough in my opinion. Fine for local fishing but any kind of runs backwards and forwards and you are severely limited. Eg launching Sorrento. Fishing the rip. Running down to st Leonard's. back to the rip and back to Sorrento I used "only" 25l in my boat. But it was at nearly 3km/l. You would have used close to 50 judging by the above comments.
A good amount of fuel storage in my opinion is the same amount in litres as the boats horsepower.
I burnt out an injector by running out of juice in mine one day. That was an expensive lesson. What I wouldn't give for an underfloor tank...

Re: Yamaha 2banger ..fuel consumption
Only a $100 excercise plus an hour worth of screwing about to put one in. I replaced my faulty one the other day. Of course I couldn't find the spare I had bought 6 months ago. So I bought another one and wired it in seperately. When I find the spare I'll put that in too. Doesn't hurt to have a spare bilge pump wired in in the event of a failure or taking a wave haha.
