That's some serious speed. I'm not a boat fisho so i'm curious, kill switch? is that common on the boats here & when does it kick in?

The boats they use typically can do 160km/hr so 100km/hr is just cruising.

Kill switch is common it is activated and stops the motor when the cord with a small key is pulled out.

kill switch is std on most boats , its just lanyard that attaches to your wrist or jacket, pants etc.
it works on principle where if you do get thrown out like that, the lanyard then which is connected to you pulls the key out from the ignition, which stops the boat motor instantly, so you dont get run over / and can get back into the boat safely etc.

those bass boats have quite a lot of power on them mostly running 200-250hp motors which can get them to 150km/hr easily.

this boat had a hydraulic steering failure apparently.

Kill switches are common in Bass Boats.
In the Vic Bream Classic series and ABT Series they make sure your Kill Switch
is attached and working as you run through in the morning for check.
These guys look like they got out of this one luckily!

Bass tournament's are very big $$$$$$$$$ in prizes compared to here
