Re: 4.58
I had one with a 70hp, nice little hull doesn't do anything unexpected, I wish I had never sold it, but due to tuff times I had little choice at the time.bowl wrote:Testing.

Re: 4.58
Thx for the offer bowl, when I was searching for a small safe cuddy the 4.58 had the highest sides in that length boat, and built with plenty of glass, it's still a small boat but the cuddy works well as long as you don't overload the cabin and make it nose heavy.bowl wrote:Thinking they would be ok for night fishing.hornet wrote:I had one with a 70hp, nice little hull doesn't do anything unexpected, I wish I had never sold it, but due to tuff times I had little choice at the time.bowl wrote:Testing.

Re: 4.58//mobile marine mechanic
Bowl, check the roll when at rest just to see what it's like when you get adults on same side. Great hull for cutting thru the chop. I'd expect the yammy to be quiet and smother than the etec. Etec will push it along a lot faster.

Give Anton from South East Marine a call 0432 664 717. He came over and serviced dads outboard and did a very thorough job for a good price.

Re: 4.58//mobile marine mechanic
First 1 unless you're going to repower straight away, the 60hp yammy will have better trade in/resale value. Spent my childhood fishing out of a mid 80s 4.58 runabout in sometimes utter crap weather and other than the usual soft floor and rotten stringers was faultless. Started life with a 50hp blue band. Way under powered. Got to a and b fine, but when it got sloppy it was found out. Finished with a 75hp merc and came to life. Could've done with a 90hp to be that touch better. For their size they're a good bay boat. A little tippy with weight, OK until there's 2 solid guys on one side. They also (atleast used to) hate weight on the back, the 75 made the arse sink 2 inches compared to the 50. Would I buy one? Well it'll come down to it and a 470/490 Haines Hunter and not much else if that's the type of boat I was in the market for.
