The 6m boat looks to be quite a bit bigger and a better choice of the two boats IMO.
Quin trailer is a top quality tandem mackay although it looks pretty dirty so I would suggest very close inspection.
150 opti whilst a great DI 2 stroke but they are very noisy so don't even consider it if you want to spend a lot of time trolling.

The 135 on the trailcraft he's looking at would be worse. Thirsty, very noisy (but god it's probably the best boat motor engine note at idle going around especially the early 90s black maxs, and there's nothing like the smell of a good 2 stroke at 4am) and fumes galore. Opti is the lesser of 2 evils in this case and a note you can actually get used to very quickly at troll speeds.frozenpod wrote:The 6m boat looks to be quite a bit bigger and a better choice of the two boats IMO.

The quinnies are monsters on the trailer. Very high sides are good no matter which way you look at it. Got no experience in one. Heard quite a few crashing through bay chop and offshore, most times over the top of the boat I'm actually on they're just a very noisy hull underway on anything but flat water. Only issues with the hull would be it's very wind prone, or those I've seen have had **** skippers... and any worked hard may have cracked welds like most coke cans will in similar circumstances.
Have zero experience with trailcrafts either. Knew someone who had a smaller model. Constant cracked hull welds resulted in a whole new bottom being put on it and last I knew boat went on the market and sold in full seaworthy condition after a few years finally trouble free. Last one I seen a few months back, looked similar to the one you're looking at, was underwater at stony point ramp with only the bow clearing the surface. Original business went bust, fairly sure a Chinese mob have all the rights and designs now. Make of that what you will.
Coke cans aren't my thing and I've got virtually zero experience in them so my opinion means pretty much Jack ****

I think there both good hulls imo
Ive been fishing and canping in both makes and both pretty good.
I would be more concerned with the motors.
Cheers bm

Thanks for all the advice.
Also to consider is Holiday planned in august is to bermagui for a week then upto brisbaine for a week.
Which means going up the windy blue mountains so which will be less likely overheat the car?
