take them both for a spin and you will never get in a savage again plus the savage is way under powered for a 19' boat ally or glass

If you are after a boat to fish in comfort at Bermagui then steer clear of aluminium. I have had a lancer 530 and also a HH580sf both out of Bermie and my back still feels the lancer and this was over 20 years ago!
Good luck in your search but if you are looking aluminium due to towing weight then I would be looking at glass haines v17l which wouldn't be too much heavier than your larger tinnie

The millennium hull is pretty good for an alli hull. glass will always give a better ride in chop due to the achievable hull shapes and extra weight but makes up for it in requiring a bigger donk, more fuel and more capable tow rig. Horses for courses. I also prefer the quintrex out of the 2 you have presented. They both still seem a bit pricey to me but perhaps it's just the time of year. I don't know much about the evinrudes but should be better than the 2 stroke Mercury on fuel I think.

I reckon that the outboards on them are ever so slightly on the undersize for serious offshore work. Fine for odd trips on good days out there and in the bay's. Both hulls probably have a max HP of 135 or 150HP anyhow. The usual advice for an alli hull is to get the max HP it's designed for. You'd have to take one out for a spin to get an idea. I only have a 115 4 stroke on my boat, similar size at the waterline but probably a beamier, heavier boat overall. I can do over 30 knots but hole shot leaves a bit to be desired. It's never been a problem for the days I go out but if I was regularly heading offshore in less than perfect conditions or crossing bars I'd prefer to go up to a 150 HP. The 2 strokes will have better holeshot though.

I went through this scenario recently (wanted aluminium to keep the weight down)...the Quintrex's seemed to have a better build quality over the Savage. I um'd and ah'd for months and ended up buying a Stabicraft... I reckon it handles almost as good as a glass boat.
