The opportunity has arisen for me to pick up Furuno sounder dirt cheap from a friend. However, I need to purchase a transducer to go with it. I was contemplating getting the Airmar B60 Thru Hull Transducer 600w. There are two versions available based on the deadrise at transom of your boat. There's a 20 degree (16 - 24 degree range) or 12 degree (8 - 15 degree range). I can't seem to find the deadrise specifications anywhere on the net.
My boat is a Stacer 420 Seaway 2003 model. Does anyone know which one I would need?
Cheers

Re: Stacer 420 Deadrise
I have heard of many people struggling to get thru hull xducersto work in alli hulls. Can't you just go for the Airmar P66 transom mount?

I would have to agree with the guys above. It's also alot easier to mount and if you wanted to transfer it to a new boat in the future it would be alot easier.

Re: Stacer 420 Deadrise
My haines came with a foruno and the through hull transducer failed so I was advised to get a airmar p66 600 watt at the time I couldn't justify the extra $1000 for a 1kw. Anyway I was advised that if I replaced the through hull tx it would lose some wattage having to shoot through the hull.
I have been very happy with the p66 at cruise 50kph still shows the bottom and still picks up the bottom at just over 100 fathoms just increase the scroll rate.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll go with the Airmar P66 Transom Mount instead!
