Wrecked Propeller

Post by Wolly Bugger » Sun Sep 11, 2016 7:46 pm

Launched and retrieved at Mornington after pulling the boat out to the water, the brand new propeller, looked a little worse for wear. So I am up for a new prop.

If I get a chance I'll have a look at the solas on the Belmont. 4 blade stainless I'm pretty sure it's 13x17. Same hulls, so if you want bit better hole shot with marginal loss of top end speed and no obvious fuel usage increases I'd recommend saving the $800 odd

I know that there is a concrete lip at the edge of the ramp. I thought the motor was trimmed high enough.

Isnt there a bit of the leg that goes below the prop to stop thst from happening? Was that damaged at all?

Sorry to hear that mate.
Ive made this mistake before bit luckily the motor was high enough to clear.
Only realised after the trailer was parked and i went to tie down the boat straps etc.

I would have thought the skeg part would have hit first and saved the prop?
Unless the steering was on an angle

Yep...

if my trailer is in too deep..it goes on in a hard angle ..
I forgot to trim it up and broke top engine mounts...lol
As my solo retrive system is designed to slide back abit
