Woolly' prop is repairable. They weld on a new bit of stainless, then bang, hit, grind and polish till it's like new.

Is it the right pitch for your boat and motor setup, you may want to modify it or replace it with a different pitch if you weren't getting WOT RPM at the max range or you were able to over rev. Just a few thoughts to consider. I messed about with props for ages on my boat and made a world of difference to my boat performance. Also, what model is your outboard?

Edit... I see its stainless, $450 for a new one seems cheap!
3 is three blade
4 is the pitch
19 is diameter, which is 19 inches

I havent had the tacho over about 4800, it is doing almost 30 knots.

The prop is alloy.

3 blades is not unusual
4 inches of pitch seems very low
19 inches in diameter! That's nearly half a meter.

That's one hell of an outboard you're running!

Sorry to confuse the alloy for stainless. It's the shiniest bit of alloy I've seen for a prop, they're often just painted white or black.

Without knowing the recommended range of RPM for your outboard at WOT then I can't guess if 4800 is good. If it was my outboard Mercury 4s 115 then the recommended WOT RPM is as close to 6200 without going over. 4800 wouldn't be unusual for a lot of outboards though.

At 4800 is not even close to WOT, I think WOT is about 6000. but haven't been game to go that high yet. I like cruising at about 25 knots.

The reason it is shiny is that it only just happened, and hadn't had time to oxidize.

The prop is alloy.
3 blade possibly 14" diameter and 19" pitch.

Get it fixed and don't stress about it.

It is getting fixed, just lucky today is wet or else I would be spewing I cant get on the water. If the prop isn't ready by the weekend I might fork out for a stand by prop.
