I'm also looking at getting a compact fold down type boat net. That big enought to hold some decent sized fish.
What's the Rouge net like brenton.
That will suit me nicely

Major issue with my 1st rougue net was that it flew out back of the boat on the way Back from Clifton springs ramp..
So bought the same net and not long ago i must left it at st Helens at about 2am in the morning...

Net seems fine ,mate used it to net the 80 plus snapper I caught land base...

Another vote for Tony's tackle here. That or Hook-em. Both are very strong. The rubber is great, I have the deep large net in rubber from hook-em. The hooks don't get all caught up in it. The rubber does make it a little heavy and I've been told its not that strong but I haven't had any problems yet (or any big fish in it either).

Two nets are handy, one large double handed for Snapper, Gummies etc. and one smaller single handed for Whiting, Squid, Flatties etc. The Rogue rubberized mesh with the small holes is great for squid, jigs don't catch on it. Reasonable quality and not expensive.
