Have a look at the berkley range of nets, the rubber mesh they have is fantastic. I've got a short handled kayak net that I use for most of my light lure fishing both on the yak and landbased and I'm about to buy the catch and release net for the yak.

I will only buy one with the large rubber netting. When you have multiple rods going off with 4-5kg snapper you need to be able to get each fish out of the net quickly and easily. Nothing worse than a Paternoster rig getting the other hook tangled in the net while you are trying to pull a fish out cos u have a second 5kg snapper boatside, attaching the first snapper, and your other rod to the net also. Calamity ensues.

TBH, these days I dont bother netting anything apart from large fish. IE: big snapper/gummies or XL versions of other fish (45+ cm whiting, 60+ CM flatties, etc, etc) everything else just get swung in and squid get grabbed on the head.
