Re: Side console boats
If baitfishing out the back is the main use I'd look at something that has a full floor right to the transom and no rear casting deck, regardless of the steering position. It's annoying having to reach over or step up onto one to grab a rod from a snapper rack or rod holders at the rear, especially with any back complaints.

Re: Side console boats
There extrodinary all round boats....very stable with a two blokes casting lures or bait fishing.ratbag wrote:I run a topender 455, it has the fuel tank & batteries to offset the weight distribution. the millennium hull is a great ride and very dry. I have had 3 blokes & gear fishing lure fishing, 1 at each end & 1 in the middle. It rides better than my previous savage hull. I tend to leave 2 seats in & 3rd person sits on the esky up front. the hull shape will have more to do with the ride than the offset console.
amazing soft ride on your body and a really dry boat.
I took mine through through the kimbely with two dogs and food and water for 15 days and never felt in danger in the boat.
