bait tank pick up

Post by mr plow » Wed May 11, 2016 8:20 pm

on my seafarer ventura i have a roughly 20mm brass sleeve through my transom which is connected to my live bait tank pump on the inside of my boat. which seems a common thkng on mid 90 seafarer and it pumps water well into the bait tank under rest but underway it doesnt pump nor pick up.
has anyone seen or made a pick up thay fits into the brass sleeve?

Post a picture but I am guessing it's out of the water when you are underway that's why it's not picking up. You can buy a stainless tube type you then add a stop cock and connect to your pump

Those things are awesome. They will make your deck wash like a pressure washer while moving along. You might need to put a ball valve on the bait tank to slow the flow down while moving. but that can always be done afterwards if there is too much pressure.. you might scale the fish though :D

Also. just an idea. Bait tanks work the best when there is a bit of a cyclone effect going on inside, as to give the bait fish a bit of a current to swim against. They last all day that way. so to have the water coming out at a bit of an angle into the tank. not just blasting straight into the middle.
