Christening the new boat
Took the boat out today for the first time to try and run the motor in and also see how the new boat handled the bay.
When we launched the weather was great. After driving around for about an hour we decided to have a quick fish.
Well a few things happened. We got onto a nice school of pinkies Just randomly drifting and casting . Not only did we manage quite a fair few legal pinkies. I also.managed a few firsts.
King George whiting on plastic
Banjo on plastic. (Foul hooked i reckon when he came to investigate)
Also the fact that we boated 5 different species of fish in the first day we tòok the boat out.
The trip back was a hairy ride. We we're head on into 1.5m waves and 15 knot winds made it very interesting. And we drove from martha cove to mornington.
The old boat would have us looking like drenched rats. But i was barely sprayed with water from waves coming side on. And decky had one wet sleeve I'm very happy with how the boat handled the rough weather. Still early days to make up my mind 100% but am quite happy with it so far.
Back at the ramp. And retrieving the boat was a whole comedy circus.
New boat, along with first time handling a forward control along with a tight steering control and 15 knot cross winds made a interesting spectacle for those who were watching from the ramp.
It may have taken me 7 or 8 attempts to get it on the trailer.

Re: Christening the new boat
A good start to the new boat working life. A good array of fish to boot, well done. You'll soon get used to handling the boat at the ramp, cheers davo :a_goodjob:
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
