stormy lifejacket

Post by Nude up » Thu Apr 28, 2016 6:18 pm

With all this talk of over zealous water police I decided to have my stormy lifejacket serviced. I looked on the stormy website nearest to me was in derrimut 67 calarco drive when I got there I couldn't find it plan b there is one in Williamstown 154 nelson place dropped it off should be ready in 3 days. Due to my shifts I will pick it up next week.
Anyone else had their inflatable lifejacket serviced according to stormy the water activated mechanism should be replaced every 3 years the co2 cartridge every 5 years and an annual check.
Not sure what the vic law is

Let us know how much it costs nude up. My stormy is getting on 5 years old and I've never had it serviced. Have inflated it a couple of times though

A lot of jackets can be serviced by yourself. Regs simple say serviced as per manufactures specs. So go to their site and download the service schedules.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Also you only have to replace parts if faulty or the service schedules says to. I have serviced my 3 jackets 4 times cost zero

I just service mine myself as per the manufactures website , remember to keep the service paper in the boat as well. I replace mine every 3 years with a new one

Got my stormy lifejacket back cost $36 dollars. They marked it on the service tag inside and gave me a certificate of compliance. The gas cartridge was weighed not replaced.

That's a bummer with no catridge replaced for that price.
I belive most pfds you can service yourself. But stormy ones you have to return to the dealer or service agent.

Most other recomend to chance the catridge on the 3rd year.
I have an old stormy that's never been serviced got it worth my old boat . You can check online with the serial number to see how many times is been serviced.
