Would this be worth $6k?
It wont at that age.
That is going to be a very cheap change over price but I think you will not be happy with the performance of the 115 zuk.
Great motor but I don't think it matches this hull well.

New Boat looks great, Whats wrong with the motor thats on it??
if your repowering then go biggest the hull can take or what you can afford, no point repowering if your staying with the same size unless thats the max hp for the hull and the current one is stuffed.
if doing offshore where kms are big then a 4 stroke or 2 stroke direct injection makes more sense than the carby 2 strokes.

It says Signature from the side, Savage Mako from the back. Certainly looks the goods. You'll have to let us know how she goes, don't see many Sportscrafts other than the old 80's models around.
As for motors, V6 carby 2s yammys are THIRSTY! They'd be a last resort option along with other brands carby 6's and only if the current motor had catastrophic problems if I was in the same boat. The Suzuki? Will easily do another 1000 hours, but it is an 11 year old motor. Offer as little as is reasonable then negotiate up. As for is it enough power, only you'll be able to decide after a few trips (today off Altona would've been a great test) in all conditions with your current motor to see if 115HP is enough for you. If not, I'd be waiting for something more suitable to pop up on the market or save for a new one (~15k+ changeover depending on what you get).

Re: I need your help with boat choice...
G'day, I have a haines signature 520c and would thoroughly recommend it for bay use but would never consider taking it off shore. Look at a 6m hull for your requirements.ChrisAbout wrote:So I've been looking at and inspecting various boats over the past month. I mainly fish WP Bay and at times I like to venture out offshore around Phillip Island.
Also very keen to take it proper offshore fishing for tuna, marlin and the rest.
Requirements are:
- sub $30,000
- off-shore worthy
- fiberglass
- covered space to accommodate two toddlers and a petite woman
- under hull fuel tank
- high freeboard for kids safety
- comfy fishing space for up to 3 adults
- 4 stroke engine
- Year 2000+
What boats should I pick, there are so many. So far I've seen:
- Allison 189
- Revival 525
- Savage Mako
- HH Breeze 530
- Hains Signature series
- Kingfisher Eclipse
- Cruise Craft Reef Finder
And I like the Revival and Allison the most.
