Should be a good rig, that extra size will be very noticeable. Keep us updated with how she goes!

Well I finally bought it!

2005 Sportscraft 185 Walk-thru
18.5ft Length
2.34 Beam
'99 115HP Johnson - 260hrs
150L tank

Now I am on the hunt for a bigger engine. I like the 4strokes but damn they are expensive. I was thinking to upgrade her to the 150HP 2st Yamahas.

And here's some pics of the hull being tested in some rough SA weather by Sportscraft.

Thanks. She'll need a bit more rigging before I can take it out to Portland, but we'll get there :)

Go for a second hand 4-stroke in the 130-150 range, something 3-5 years old, and don't discount motors with large amounts of hours, those 4-strokes will go forever. far better in the long run that getting a dirty 2 stroke, fuel economy, repairs, and resale wise. You should be able to find something in the 8-12k range. if you can fit it in your budget then that is the way to go for sure.

Looks like a great rig for the type of fishing you are keen to do, looking forward to the fish photos

I've got an offer for my engine for $3,000.

Would this be worth $6k?

Probably going to be a little underpowered there just as a guess. But if that doesn't bother you then I'd make an offer of $6k, that's a reasonably good price
