Definitely a good thing to have, got something similar and love it, keeps rods protected and out of way, and also good for gaff and net.
Here fishy fishy.......

is this a common problem with rocket launchers? i was thinking about getting one but i might stick to my homemade PVC holders

They look great. Will definitely be forming part of my boat renovation. Would love to be able to have 4-5 rods stored away down one side. Currently can only fit 3 and the holders are terrible. Before I spent some time in my boat I thought verticle storage was the best. But horizontal storage is so much better if you have the room.

Ummmm not common but one rough day and me careless didn't bother to bring them down to the many rod holder's I also have in the boat.

They are great for keeping the boat clear of clutter but you gotta keep an eye on your gear when the boats hopping

I don't see why those rubber rod holders that's are available from k-mart cant be used to create something similar.
