Re: tinny stabilizers
I thought they were suppose to be fitted lower to the chine ? is it normal for these to be fitted this high up ?

Here are the boat collar types... closer to the chine like I thought it should be fitted.

Hornet - in the top picture the airofloats are fitted incorrectly, the installation instructions say to be a minimum of 20mm from the gunwhale and 80mm from the transom. I think from memory in the video the person that installed them commented that he was advised to put them closest to the gunwale since his tinny is shallow.

Found this link of a bloke giving the kapten boat collars a workout, looks interesting. not the sort of stuff ill be trying but if they can handle that then surely they will help with the wake from ski/wake boats on the Murray

Cool vid, I think if I were to buy something for tinny stability it would be the boat collar, I'm not entirely sure I would feel safe with airofloats..Growlermz wrote:Hornet - in the top picture the airofloats are fitted incorrectly, the installation instructions say to be a minimum of 20mm from the gunwhale and 80mm from the transom. I think I will be getting the boat collars when I get back from New Zealand, that video has pretty much sold me.

Re: tinny stabilizers
They look ok under-way but do they help at anchor ? that's where it would be needed to stop the rockin and rollin...Growlermz wrote:I think I will be getting the boat collars when I get back from New Zealand, that video has pretty much sold me.
More research needed.

Don't forget that pic of the boat leaning is in flat water, in a half meter chop or even less with maybe 15 knot winds it would be very different..
