I usually have to rinse the boat down then use Better Boat Deck Brush with boat wash, then dry the boat. A lot of work. This time I used Salt away as a rinse and motor flush. It was great. I'll never go saltwater fishing without this product again.

If you have a Karcher pressure washer, try spraying your boat & trailer with Karcher Car Shampoo....does the same thing at a 12th of the price.
As for flushing your motor out, my mechanic reckons it's a waste of time/money using Salt Away.

I use the salt away...its a great product.

It's cheap next to the price off a new engine imo

im still yet to use this stuff.
should get some i think, although im thinking a regular flush for 10 min at the car wash and maybe once a month running with the saltaway might be a bit more value for money while still getting enough protection.

I took Nudeups advice and got some Macs engine flush after his advice on this thread

I haven't used it.

The key aspect of flushing the motor is to make sure you run it long enough to open the thermostat(s).
If you don't parts of the motor don't get flushed.

I typically use a fast idle for 10 minutes.

Also for 4 stroke owners new internal anodes every 12 months.

So all 4 strokes have internal anodes?

To add i had my last yammy 2 stroke for 22 years never used anything other than freshwater to flush and never had any issues
Every 12 month at service i removed thermostat and cleand around it and found the galleries in good shape,also the internals were coated with a grey teflon film,so maybe that helpef

Certainly most do.
