Mercury outboard mechanic/electrician

Post by aussie_fisho » Wed Dec 12, 2018 1:27 pm

Wondering if anyone could suggest somewhere around the northern suburbs ( mill park area) that would be able to help me with electrical issue on my 1998 Mercury outboard. Tried having a crack it myself checked the stater and coils and still can’t get a good spark from the plugs but still can’t fix it. I’ve rang up 1-2 places up my way and basically been told they want nothing to do with the older outboards..
Any help appreciated.
Cheers Aussie

how did you check the coils? Are you using standard plugs and have you checked the plug gap?
