The intention of this post brock

Liberal party member? Lib voter?
or national.
Just want to understand the passive aggressive undertone.
Think of it like this. A footy time people take sides and anyone not baracking for their team is the enemy.

Broken promises by politicians is nothing knew and it is highly likely the Liberals may have not up held their promises either. Iron clad guarantee is as worthless as the paper it is written on.

It is far too early to tell if Labor will up hold the no ramp fees. There are a number of hurdles for them to over come because not all ramps are under the control of local councils.

It can take a lot of time to get legislation through the Parliament. I

Two things:

It shouldn’t take them too long to get the required laws through parliament given the majority they just won.

The liberals’ pets in the Murdoch media (or is it the other way around?) will try to make them look as **** as possible regardless of the situation.

Unfortunately 3 seats short of majority in in upper house, although given LNP made similar promise there's no excuse for opposition, but I'm sure they'll find an excuse to knock it back!

Isn't there a couple of shooters in the upper house? Between them, the nationals and the country independents there should be plenty of support for laws that help fishermen

Libs had an almost exact policy so doubt they'd not support whatever changes are put up. Parliament doesn't resume until next week anyway so won't find out until after the new year

There is precedence for parties changing policy after losing an election, or nit picking legislation in order to delay or even block it, then blame govt for broken promises

Don't forget as far as I can tell, there are three different bodies in charge of boat ramps, the foreshore committees, the local councils and parks victoria.

I believe Portland use to be free until the boom in Tuna Fishing, but the fees did create another set of boat ramps.
