Boat windscreen repairer?
Whilst drilling some holes to mount new hinges to my walk-thru windscreen, I managed to f&%k up the aluminium frame that surrounds it. Does anyone here know where I could either buy a replacement for or just take my boat to get it replaced/repaired?
Alternatively I can go and buy some "U" type aluminium channel, but it doesn't look anywhere close to the original framing the boat came with.
Thanks

I drilled too many holes and also the frame holding the hinges is flimsy (I suspect the acrylic holding it has cracked too)

Chris, put up a photo of it mate, lets have a first hand look !
I've just re done mine, re used all the old aluminium, so it was changing all the acrylic out.
If the acrylic isn't cracked, You may be able to get a U channel, powder coat it and slip it over damaged aluminium.
Put up a Pic, lets have a look

Just google boat window frames heaps of manufacturers around .I would not use automotive body filler it is hygroscopic and will absorb water if not properly protected and cause corrosion. You could use an a fibreglass filler which is an epoxy 2 part mix which will not absorb water.

You can use 'JB Weld' to fill holes, it is a 2 part epoxy. It takes 24 hours to cure, is not hygroscopic, can be filed, drilled or sanded after its cured, and you can use it on most materials, plastic, steel, aluminium ect.
