cheap gps unit

Post by bowl » Fri Nov 15, 2013 11:39 pm

Last year i bought a garmin etrex ten hand held gps, my sounder at the time was working.
About a month later my sounder went and i bought elite 4x (without gps) Bangg
The garmin gps takes you to a direct route and will guide you over dry/shallow water.
What is a good cheap gps that will have maps,so it can guide you a safe route to ur fishing destination.
Might be easy to sell my garmin and elite 4x and get a combo
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

Regardless of the brand , check if you can get maps for the area you fish, there is very little mapping of inland waterways. E.G Gippsland lakes. Most rivers. If no maps are available then you may as well stick with what you have and just use waypoints to mark your spots.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
