Patterson River entrance

Post by Mustang38 » Fri Aug 30, 2013 3:51 pm

Hi Guys,
just a quick warning for those transiting out through the entrance of Patterson river over the next few days. The Northern/City side of the entrance has a large sand bar the has developed. I came through the other night and had .5m. You need to exit / enter on the Frankston side were the water is slightly deeper. My service guy told me today he was doing larger boat test as the entrance was to dangerous for larger boats. He said the dredge was booked for next week sometime so this should be back to normal soon.
Cheers

There used to be a huge cable running under the water at patto', from one side to the other just after the bridge ,heading in.
I'm not sure if it's there anymore ? , was hooked a few times by boats on really low tides, around 20 years ago !.

Cheers , Rick.
