1981 Johnson workhorse 40 hp

Hi All,

First post, I have a new boat that has a Johnson 40 hp pull start.would like to know if this can have an electric starter put on it.any help appreciated! Thanks

Yep,finding a 2nd hand one will be the problem.I doubt you will get a new one off the shelf for a motor that age . I'm not certain but i think they used a common starter assy on the 30-90 hp range from 1978-88 so there might be a few around off old motors.Have a chat to your outboard mechanic.
