Hey Guys,
Hoping someone with a Furuno might be able to help me out with something. I usually run the sounder in bottom zoom mode set to 5 metres with auto range.
Currently I think it just blows up the bottom 5 metres of the normal echo. Makes sense. Thing is I don't really need to zoom in on the seabed floor and the echos below as I can see bottom composition on the unzoomed screen.
Is there a way I can set it to say blow up 25% of the seabed and 75% of the water column above? Seemingly from images I have seen online you can.
I think it's the 'Bottom Zone' option in the menu. However I',m buggered if I can work out how to use it.
I pretty much want it to look like this all the time:
Small amount of the bottom, but mainly above the sea floor. If you can throw in the christmas trees as well that would be great.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Cheers,
goat

Re: Quick Furuno Question
The bottom Lock/ Zoom range is set in the System menu/range menu, on most furunos. Some models have pre-set max.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: Quick Furuno Question
What model are you running?
FCV 588 you can remove the top section of the water column using the shift function on the menu.
