Garmin Striker 7SV

Post by Ekaz3556 » Sun Oct 22, 2017 5:28 am

Hello all
Just want to pic your collective brains if you don't mind. BCF have these on special for 700:00. It does not come with maps but does allow setting waypoints. Given I only ever fish port Phillip in a 4.2 tinnie, maybe 5 times a year for a few days at a time. Lot of eppalock (fresh water ) fishing so am thinking side view would be handy. I have no real idea on how these work and am hoping I am not falling for the shiney thing mentality. Thanks for your thoughts

If you feel maps or nmea capabilities aren't necessary for you then definitely save the 3-400 and go the striker model. Same transducer as the more pricey echomap, same more than adequate soundings and same decent display.

Thanks for the info guys, I decided to spend a little extra and go with echomap model, it comes with the preloaded maps and one day they might just come in handy :)
