That naked feeling

Post by Wolly Bugger » Wed Jun 14, 2017 8:19 pm

Well I had a few gremlins occur in my effort to get to Portland. I finally get out in my boat and wonder where my GPS/Sounder is??

Left the damm things in Melbourne. Fishing without these units is like being naked and blind, it reminds me how dependent we have become on technology.

With my smart phone, I deliberately leave it in the car for example or at home when I go out. It is strange feeling reaching for your phone only to realise that it is at home. It in nice not to be contactable at times.

I couldnt agree more Wolly, I used to fish all the time without a sounder with no trouble but i went out on a mates boat the other day without one and felt like a kid lost in a shopping centre, I had no clue!

I remember lining up trees with points of french or phillip island before I ever had a sounder. Was a bit of an art to remembering where you had a good session.

Nowadays its an art to be able to read your sounder correctly. Something im still trying to nail..

Shows how integral utilising technology has become.
Theories are similar for a lot of species to find them it's the fishing techniques that change.
