I'm getting some wiring done, new marine radio and some lights. I've been told tin wiring is better than copper. Has anyone else heard of this before ? Is it better?
Cheers

Re: Tin wiring v copper
I think you mean tinned copper wire, not tin wire. Tinned means it has a thin coating of lead or some other metal over the copper strands. It lasts Much longer in marine environments as it resists corrosion inside the sheath. It is a better solution than copper strand for boats. Although I have been guilty of using plain old copper wiring on my boat and many boats coming fresh from a professional fit out will also just use copper. Tinned wire is more expensive.
