Lowrance Elite 5x CHIRP. Transducer faulty or not?

Post by Aznvinc3nt » Sat Oct 11, 2014 5:10 pm

Hi there,

i recently purchased the new Lowrance Elite 5x CHIRP and upon opening the box, i noticed a small circular mark on the bottom of the transducer.

i took it back to the store and checked their other elite 5x stock, all having the same mark at the same spot. I just want to double check with you expert out there whether this is faulty or whether its gonna be a problem in the future.

i have attached some photos, so please take a look and tell me what you guys think.

Thank you !

I am sure the unit is fine as it only looks like a chip in the plastic case, or maybe it is the injection moulding hole or some other manufacturing mark. You have re assured yourself that all units are the same so I would just fit it and head out.

If there are any problems you have it documented and there is always the 12 (or 36) month warranty period.

Enjoy your new toy and throw up some pictures of fish you sound - I have not yet seen a CHIRP sounder in action.

Yes im 99% that the mark is machine made and not a chip of any sort. just wanted all your opinions.

Forgive the late reply, it's most definitely machine made. Happens when they pop it out of the mould :)
